Why not a mac - or why you want a macbook
Ok, either you lived in a cave in the past 2 months, either you’ve asked yourself “Hey why wouldn’t I this ugly Dell Lattitude or Dimension to get one of the new gorgeous Macbooks”?
Well at least if you haven’t I’ll try to make you think about it
So here are the few reasons that should definitly get you in:
- Look & Feel: It’s small but yet features a 13.3-inch glossy widescreen, you may love it in white or like it in black
- Really Cool software: I’m here speaking about Mac OS X, its high quality bundled applications and the big variety of freewares and sharewares available. Just 2 examples:
- OS X makes virus and spyware history
- OS X is stable to the point that I can spend 2 months without ever needing to restart my mac!
- Feature Set: For just $1099, you get Core Duo, an integrated iSight, a remote control (Frontrow) to convert your macbook into a media center, a widescreen and the rest of a normal laptop!
- The best of both worlds: Ok, we agree that if you buy a Mac, it’s not to use it as a Windows machine but sometimes, it can be convenient (for games for instance or specialized software). It’s what Bootcamp provides you!
A few more advices and thoughts:
- On the downside, the VGA/DVI connection is a $19 option and the modem is sells for $49!!!
- If you take one and want to play games, be aware that it’s not the machine of choice, although you can decently play HL2 for instance if you boost the RAM to 2GB (and don’t buy it on apple.com since it’s almost 3 times more expensive)
So if you’re intrested, check-out Apple’s web site for more info.
