I’m not a Bourbon amateur but I’m really a big fan of new advertising angles and viral marketing ways of promoting products. These two ads are really beginning to make an audience on youtube:

March 29th, 2007To Apple TV or not…

That is the question I’m currently asking myself. In the beginning, I was really excited (keynote craze time), then bored by the limitations (no divx playback (I’m not ashamed to tell I WANT it), no recording, ridiculously small hard drive…), then there is this new phase I’m in: Wow, you can hack it, so there’s hope!
I guess many of the tecchie apple fans (that I am) are experiencing the same hesitations. So come on Apple, you can do better. Here are the specs of the AppleTV I’d like to buy:

  • TNT decoder integrated
  • TV recording capabilities
  • Any audio and video (read DIVX & XVID) playback capability
  • 120 GB hard drive
  • Same price, or even 100 bucks more!

We will buy it in masses!

For once, some corporate news on this blog, but it’s really important enough.

One year after our creation, we are excited to announce today that we are being acquired by Webwag, a Web 2.0 customizabe start page.

We have worked hard to pioneer great mobile widgets and mobile search technologies that can truly enhance the daily mobile experience in the past months.

Joining forces with Webwag will provide mobease’s users and partners with an unparalleled experience ranging seamlessly from web to mobile and vice versa.

And it looks like we’ve already got our first customer :)

I’m more than happy to continue this adventure with our exceptional team that includes Thomas Landspurg, Sébastien Mathivet & now Franck Poisson.

Expect exciting news and products in the coming weeks.

This blog will definitely now be updated frequently ;)

ps: here are the Press Releases: english | french

It’s funny how this little thing has become popular in the last weeks. You can basically see it as an MSN status on steroids, with history, or SMS applied to blogging.
So here is how it works:

  • You post from any place (a web page, a web widget, a mobile phone, a firefox extension, a mac app…) a quick status of what you’re doing, your mood where you are… or anything you want that is textual & short
  • Your have an URL like this: http://twitter.com/florent where anybody can catch-up with what you’re doing
  • Friends can subscribe to your page and get its content in RSS feed or through many other means

So, what makes it a peek? I think people are fed up doing long posts, it’s been designed to be as ubiquitously accessible as possible, it’s (almost) new!

Wouldn’t this make a great mobile widget? Stay tuned, more next week for more news about mobidgets & friends!

As always, give it a try to see if that’s your thing ;)
