May 17th, 2007Photobooth, web edition! Meet cameroid.
One really cool thing about Macs is that they all have an integrated camera that comes with a funny and very well done little software called photobooth. It allows you to take simple photos with your macs and apply real time effects. The whole experience & UI is slick, polished, fun and functional (as many things on a mac). I like it, my kids LOVE it and can’t stop begging me for another “funny photos” session.
So this little addictive app now has its web equivalent, it’s called cameroid, it’s done in flash and works great. The only thing I would be missing is saving files locally without user interaction.
Business model will you ask? Print orders, ads… if they manage to get an audience, will be a nice little target for yahoo/flickr.
Anyway, give it a try on cameroid.com.
